An epic sci-fi short film that beams you into the year 2084. It’s post nuclear war, America along with half the globe lay in ruins. The Executives or "EXE", an organization that has taken oppressive control over certain territories. Building "Dome" societies while searching for survivors, and capturing them against their will. The goal is to secure their version of a better future. Most follow their assigned orders while others plan to escape.Awarded Best Costume/Set Design at Eastern Idaho’s Kiwanis Teen Film FestivalDirector notes:I was a senior in high school when I made this, while the CGI isn’t great by any means, all 3d models and VFX were done in after effects without the help of exterior 3d programs. Rendering time was horrendous; a single 4 second clip often took an hour to render. The color/lens flares was an artistic choice and was meant to make viewers feel discomfort as the protagonist was feeling, and also add a sci fi look. As the video progresses it gets warmer colors as they escape their entrapment. While a lot of essential footage was left out (that explained plot details), I simply didn’t have enough time to even polish existing footage. I wanted to explain the organization, but it required me to add 3d set extensions to my footage. This project had more potential, but as I came to the deadline in which I had to turn in the video, I realized that other things like plot details, script, and character development just wasn’t up to par to spend that extra 50 hours of VFX. This video has been compared to Avatar, and I agree that have similar production qualities. This isn’t necessarily a good compliment among film enthusiasts, they both lack good story telling elements and rely heavily on VFX. I hope you guys enjoy it for what it is. This was an enormously ambitious film for me, and I encourage others to set high goals and ambitions for their videos.
